Welcome.  Ferguson Library is your hometown library, serving our community since 1930.  We offer reference, computer workstations, WiFi hotspot, interlibrary loan, reserve requests, special print and digital collections, movies, eBooks, eaudiobooks, videogames, meeting rooms, continuing education opportunities -- a friendly place where you can connect.

    • Audiobooks - CD & MP3; checkout 2 weeks, with 3 renewals.
    • eAudiobooks - MP3 & WMA; checkout 7/14 days (OverDrive).
    • eBooks - EPUB & PDF; checkout 7/14 days (OverDrive).
    • Movies & Videos - DVD, Blu-ray; checkout 2 weeks, no renewal.
    • Music - CD; checkout 2 weeks, with 3 renewals.
    • Videogames - DVD; checkout 2 weeks, no renewals.

  • Books, Magazines, Newspapers - Print - Popular, bestselling - let us know your interests; or visit the catalog.  Children's Room features "I Can Read" books, award winners, and seasonal.  Checkout is 2 weeks, with 3 renewals.

  • Computers & Wireless - Ferguson Library has 5 Mb fiber-optic circuit for fast free access to the Internet for all Library card holders, in compliance with Acceptable Use Policy.  Computers are equipped with word processing, spreadsheets, database programs.  Bring your WiFi-enabled device and access WiFi Hotspot with your Library card.  For children 12-17 years old, a parent needs to sign permission for their child to use the Internet without supervision.  Children under 12 need to be accompanied by a parent to use the Internet.

  • Digital Premium Subscriptions - Purchased online magazines, journals, articles, reviews, newpapers, testing, audiobooks and eBooks free to Ferguson card holders 24/7 through the Missouri Research & Education Network, and Missouri State Library, and includes:
    • Chilton's - Do-it-yourself automotive.
    • EBSCO Subscription - Mega-site for magazines, scholarly journals, newspapers.
    • Gale Subscription - School subjects; business resources.
    • Learning Express - A comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorials designed to help you succeed on academic or licensing tests.
    • NewsBank - Provides access to full-text articles from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Kansas City Star.
    • NoveList - Provides reviews on fiction titles, Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists.
    • OverDrive eAudiobooks, eBooks - eAudiobooks and eBooks for your device.
    • TumbleBooks - Animated, talking books for children.

  • Fax - A dollar per page local, and two dollars per page long-distance USA.  Receiving fax fifty cents per page.

  • Homebound Service - For the homebound Ferguson resident, you may authorize a person you trust to pick-up and return items on your behalf.  Call for more information.

  • Hours - Monday-Thursday 9:00am-8:30pm; Friday 9:00am-7:00pm; Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm.

  • Lending - Municipal Library Consortium - Ferguson Library is a member of the Municipal Library Consortium, with over 700,000 items held by member libraries.  You may checkout materials at any member library using your Ferguson Library Card.  Member libraries are Ferguson, Brentwood, Kirkwood, Maplewood, Richmond Heights, Rock Hill, University City, Valley Park, and Webster Groves.  You may request materials to be sent to Ferguson for pick-up.

  • Lending - WorldCat Interlibrary - Ferguson Library will borrow materials for Ferguson residents that are not available through the Municipal Library Consortium.

  • Lending - Reciprocal with City and County - Ferguson residents may obtain a free library card from St. Louis City Public Library, St. Louis County Library, and St. Charles City-County Library.  Ferguson will issue a Ferguson card to residents of these districts.

  • Library Card - For a free Ferguson Library Card, all that is needed is to complete a short application and bring identification showing Missouri State Picture ID and proof of residency in an eligible district.  For a child's card, a parent needs to complete the application, provide standard ID, and assume responsibility for materials checked out on child's card.  Replacement is fifty cents.

  • Meeting Rooms - The Library has two meeting rooms available free of charge for Ferguson resident groups, non-commercial use, with application, during regular library hours.

  • Photocopier - Photocopier (black & white); 15 cents per copy.

  • Printing - Laser printer (black & white); 10 cents per page.

  • Renewals - Four ways to renew materials: (1) you can renew 24/7 on your library account via Internet; or (2) you can call 863-6408 to renew 24/7 by automated phone; or (3) come to library to renew; or (4) call the Library 521-4820.  Books on request and videos cannot be renewed.

  • Programs and Events - From children's storytimes to teen activities to adult-oriented presentations and programs, Ferguson Library provides activities for all ages.  Our Summer Reading Program helps students maintain and improve reading skills.

  • Tax Forms & Publications - Common forms and publications are available every spring during tax season, and tax help for low income individuals through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance by the University of Missouri.

  • Voter Registration - Mail-in voter registration forms are available at the Library; online form.
